We are delighted to present the illustrated catalogue for Reeman Dansie’s East Anglian, Fine Art & Antiques auction. The sale will be held over two days and will include over 1200 lots, beginning with the ceramics section: a selection of studio pottery bowls by Lucie Rie and Hans Coper start proceedings (lots 1 to 4). The rest of day one will see silver, jewellery, clocks, and watches go under the hammer: highlights include a fine Victorian sapphire and diamond hinged bangle (lot 407, £4000-6000).
The second day of the sale will start with works of art, where notable lots include a first edition volume of Macchiavelli’s The Prince (lot 803, £10,000-15,000), and an exceptionally fine album of Chinese paintings, including many topographical scenes (lot 793, £10,000-15,000). The East Anglian section of the sale will follow; with over 250 lots to be sold and many well-loved local names represented throughout, there is something for everyone on offer. Highlights include an oil on canvas portrait of a lady by Mary Beale (1632-1697) (lot 1127, £6000-10,000), and an oil on canvas landscape by Julian Trevelyan (1910-1988) (lot 903, £6000-£10,000).
The auction will conclude with furniture and rugs, including a Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson oak desk and leather desk chair (lot 1206, £2500-4000).
We look forward to welcoming you to the sale, whether you’ll be bidding online or in the room.
