Lewis has over decade of experience within the antiques industry. He has a very good general knowledge and specialises in medals & militaria, silver and classic cars.
I have been passionate about antiques from a young age and have been an avid collector for as long as I can remember. I used to regularly scour charity shops and car boot sales with willing grandparents, later discovering the world of auctions, attending my first sale at Reeman Dansie aged just 9.
I have been lucky enough to translate this early passion into a career, first joining Reemans back in 2013. Since then I have been fortunate enough to handle some truly wonderful and remarkable objects. One such object that sticks in the memory was back in 2021 we handled the sale of H.R.H. Diana, Princess of Wales 1981 Ford Escort 1.6 Ghia, during the sale television crews descended on the auction room, and I was interviewed by Japanese television crew, it was all a little surreal!
One aspect of the job I particularly enjoy is handling and sorting collections, it is often difficult for the collector to part with a lovingly amassed collection but for me it is very rewarding to do it justice, cataloguing and sorting the items ready for sale, often with very pleasing results.
I am motivated by an enduring sense of discovery, uncovering the overlooked or the unappreciated and that no two days are ever the same.
