Reeman Dansie are privileged to be holding a special sale of model railway from one man- Ian Claude Standfast. The collection, numbering nearly 300 individual auction lots showcases Ian’s and his father Claude’s passion for the hobby, as his cousin Rosemary explains.

“I can recall as a child he had a model railway layout running around his garden, which was both superbly detailed and also very large. It was just incredible!” She added.

It is believed Ian inherited his father Claude’s interest in model railway at an early age. Along with their mutual interest Ian also inherited his father’s eye for detail, with every part made exactly right as perfection in miniature was sought.

In his working life Ian’s beloved trains were never far from his mind, with him enjoying a long career on the railways and never owning a car!
