We include around 200-300 lots of fine antique and contemporary silver in each of our bi-monthly Fine Art and Antique sales, with silver lots also featuring in our Collector’s sales and regular General sales. Our specialist is Geoffrey Carr B.A. (Hons) who joined our team in 2010 and was previously a member of the British Hallmarking Council. He is a qualified Fine Art Valuer, is a Freeman of the City of London and a registered silversmith in his own right.
Our silver sales attract significant saleroom and online interest with sold rates invariably in excess of 90%. Recent notable successes include a 9ct gold strawberry set by Asprey which we sold in 2018 for £39,000 and a Georg Jensen canteen of cutlery which achieved £5,600 in 2019.
We are happy to provide free appraisals of any silver which you might be considering selling, we can also assist with formal valuations for insurance, probate or family division purposes, please contact our department for further details.
