We hold a quarterly Collectors’ sale dedicated to niche antique and vintage collecting fields which fall outside the usual categories of our Fine Art and Antiques sales. These well established sales include upwards of 2000 lots sold over three days, the diverse subsections within these sales include 20th century design, textiles, jewellery and costume, toys, books, coins, ephemera, stamps and postcards, militaria, automobilia, musical instruments, vinyl and sound equipment, scientific instruments and miscellany.
Our collectors’ sales have been running for many years and are an eagerly awaited fixture on the auction calendar. These auctions are overseen by Lewis Rabett, an experienced valuer who has a specialist knowledge of military, automobilia and a range of other items. Lewis works with our team of cataloguers, together with a stable of specialist consultants to ensure that we can accurately identify and catalogue across the spectrum of collecting disciplines which these unique auctions encompass. These sales are published and sold live online - extensive cataloguing and photography ensures that online bidders have the confidence to engage without requiring first-hand inspection. These sales receive a considerable international online audience as well as high attendances by a U.K. following of collectables enthusiasts and dealers.
Our Collectors’ sales frequently feature extensive individual collections. Recent sales have included a exceptional collection of vintage slot machines, an extensive library of modern first edition books, in 2017 out sales included one of the finest collections of antique pipes to come to auction, a collection which totalled over £75,000. Our team work tirelessly to ensure collections receive maximum exposure and our auctions can provide a lasting legacy and permanent record of significant collections.
Our Collectors’ sales typically close for entries around two weeks before the sale date. We are happy to advise on items which you may be considering for these sales either in our salerooms or at your home.
